​The Industrial Revolution - Children in Factories ( Conditions and Punishments )

Children as young as 5 years old were employed in British factories and mills during the Industrial Revolution. Children provided a cheap ( sometimes free ) source of labour for the factory owners. Most of these owners showed little regard for the children who worked for them.
