President Harry S. Truman and Civil Rights

Interactive PowerPoint and supporting activities : The Second World war has ended and the Cold War begun. Many Black American soldiers have returned from their courageous service fighting for the freedom of others in Europe. Now they face a battle in their own country to achieve equality. Harry S. Truman become the US president in 1945 and stayed in office until 1953. Did he help or hinder the struggle for equality in the USA during this time?

Teacher feedback  ''The League of Nations stuff is brilliant! It will be perfect for Revision with my Y11's when we return to school tomorrow (they do OCR Modern World). Thank you so much' Jane Meenan, Newcastle, UK.
